Universal Orlando Reveals Most Life Like Animatronic Ever of Hagrid in Motorbike Adventure Coaster

Universal Orlando Resort has revealed their most life like animated figure ever. Hagrid, who guests will encounter on the brand new attraction ‘Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure’ set to open June 13th of this year. While aboard the ride guests will come face to face with the Hogwarts gamekeeper and Care of Magical Creatures Professor.

We will see Hagrid as he tries to contain the dreaded ‘Blast Ended Skrewt’. He will then lead riders into the forbidden forest and guide them on their adventure as they encounter various magical creatures upon their journey. Universal Creative spent thousands of hours working to bring the gentle half giant to life. The team worked closely with actor Robbie Coltrane who portrays Hagrid in the Harry Potter films.

Every derail from head to toe of the iconic character was put into this animatronic to make sure it was perfectly developed. The animated figure features an extensive motion profile of 24 different body movements and facial expressions, mimicking Robbie Coltrane’s exact motions as Hagrid. A scan of his face was used to create the characters teeth and his entire face was sculpted by hand. Coltrane also recorded a full script for the attraction and Hagrid’s costume was specifically designed by the team who designed it in the Harry Potter Films.

This massive animatronic measures 7 feet 6 inches tall which is the exact height that Hagrid was in the films. The innovative animated figure is the most advance animatronic that Universal Orlando has ever created and is set to make a huge impact on the immersive adventure for guests to experience when it opens on June 13th.
