Celebrating Disney’s Most Iconic Heroes and Villains Exhibit to Coming to 2019 D23 Expo in Anaheim

More than 70 spectacular costumes from Disney history will be on display in an all new exhibit coming to this years D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center. Walt Disney Archives Presents Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume will feature costumes from movies like the original Mary Poppins all the way through the years to the now hit live action film Aladdin. The 12,000 foot square exhibit will have plenty of stuff for guests to see.

As fans first step in they will be greeted by Cinderella’s Workshop which will have costumes on display from the various different incarnations of the character and her story. Costumes such as the gown in 2007 that Scarlet Johansson wore for Annie Leibovitz’s Disney Dream Portrait Series or even form the 2015 reimagining of the animated masterpiece ‘Cinderella’ with Lily James as Ella herself. Some of the most fan favorite costumes apart of this beloved story that Disney has created in many different ways will be featured in this first section.

The main gallery of the exhibit will be broken up in 3 different areas. Disney Heroes, Villains, and Spaces Between for the various antiheroes in Disney movie history. Different costumes from the Beauty and the Beast live action film as well as costumes from this years live action Aladdin will be shown off in the hero section. For the first time ever, three iconic Mary Poppins traveling dresses from the original Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns, and the Broadway musical will be on display as well.

Fans of the 1993 Hocus Pocus film will be quite surprised when they see the costumes worn by the three wonderfully wicked witches in the movie. Two other iconic dresses that will be featured in the Villain section include the duo of dresses worn by the two evil and mischievous step sisters from the 2015 live action re make of Cinderella. Spaces Between will have antiheroes such as Maleficent’s gown from the 2014 film and Hook’s costumes from Once Upon a Time. The full exhibit will feature work from some of Hollywood’s most respected designers including Academy Award® winners Colleen Atwood, Sandy Powell, and Tony Walton, as well as Emmy® winner Ellen Mirojnick and Emmy nominees Eduardo Castro and Penny Rose.

Tickets for the D23 Expo in Anaheim are now on sale and can be purchased at http://www.D23Expo.com and the ultimate Disney fan event will be held from August 23-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center located adjacent from the Disneyland Resort!
