Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that CityWalk Orlando will be opening with limited operations beginning this Thursday May 14th, The resort announced it’s closure a couple months ago in order to protect their guests from the COVID-19 current outbreak. With stay at home orders being eased and Florida’s Task Force laying out a plan to re open the state, other resorts and attractions have begun to re open in the Orlando area as well. The entertainment and dining venue will open with new restrictions and regulations in order to still keep guests safe and prevent the spread of COVID.
As most places opening, CityWalk Orlando will require not only their team members to wears face masks, but will also require every guests to wear one as well. Face coverings must cover both the mouth and the nose and some will be up for sale at the resort. Guests & Team Members who have an 100.4 degrees temperature or greater will not be permitted into CityWalk. Temperature checks will be implemented now and all guests will be checked upon arrival.
Only select venues will be open for the time being between 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and these venues include the following, Red Oven Pizza Bakery, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant and Market, Jimmy Buffett’s Magaritaville (outside seating and loan palm area only), Voodoo Doughnut, and Auntie Anne’s. All of the different dining locations will operate with a limited menu and limited seating. There will also be select stores that will be open including the Universal Studios Store, Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company’s retail shop and select merchandise carts as well as the Hollywood Drive-In Golf. Having the Drive-In Golf experience open is big news for those looking to have some fun out at CityWalk Orlando and we highly recommend it!
As always, Universal Orlando Resort’s #1 priority is the health and safety of both their guests and team members, that’s why CityWalk is advising their guests to evaluate at their own risk and follow CDC guidelines before heading to the property. All venues that are open will operate at a reduce capacity and have social distancing markers placed through the location to ensure that guests are still practicing all the necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All theme parks & hotels including, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay will remain closed until at least May 31st.
